Frequently asked questions

WHY IRONBARK?

Ironbark is a highly dense wood, which allows it to burn slowly, and with intense heat, creating hot coals and minimal smoke. Being premium firewood, seasoned ironbark leaves less ash than other firewood. Ironbark keeps your home or restaurant oven warmer for longer, and requires less wood overall.

WHAT IS BULOKE?

Like Ironbark, but without as many splinters! Aussie Buloke is the world’s hardest wood, and burns efficiently at a high, stable temperature, with low smoke and moisture levels giving it a long coal life. Our seasoned Buloke is great for keeping your home warm, or for use in outdoor fire pits. It’s also a lot easier to split!

How big are the pieces of firewood?

As with all natural products, the pieces vary in size. Over 95% of pieces are 30cm long or less. If you have a smaller fireplace or oven, you may prefer the double-split product, which is made up of smaller pieces. If you have any concerns, we encourage you to come in and have a look!

It’s Raining. will my FIREWOOD be 100% dry?

Our lovely team make every effort to get you dry wood. This is not always possible, however, particularly when it rains for days or weeks at a time. Seasoned firewood dries out relatively quickly, and should dry out after a few days of dry weather and correct storage.

HOW DOES DELIVERY WORK?

Delivery location is by agreement with one of our friendly drivers (and subject to our T&Cs). We will do our best to tip the wood in a place of your choosing, but please note that our obligation is only to your boundary and our responsibility and risk end at the boundary.

In the case of wet weather, we are unable to drive down unsealed or similar surfaces due to the risks of being bogged or sliding.

Please also note that tip trucks need some height clearance above them in order to deliver the firewood (so please make sure there aren’t any trees or power lines nearby)! We may not be able to deliver on the property if there is insufficient height clearance.

We do our best to deliver according to schedule but sometimes delays do occur! If this happens we will let you know, and reschedule.
